Integrated Sciences, Oxford Nanopore Technologies and the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics invite researchers to apply for the opportunity to experience Agilent Technologies’ SureSelect Max targeted long-read workflow, powered by Oxford Nanopore sequencing, at no charge.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Propose a project that is suitable for the capabilities of the Agilent Technologies SureSelect Max Long-Read workflow (maximum design size- Tier 2) with ONT sequencing.
  • Have suitable DNA samples available and ready for submission**.
  • Provide the required DNA samples to the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics for library preparation and sequencing.
  • Have access to in-house bioinformatics expertise to support data analysis and interpretation.
  • Agree to present the project outcomes at a seminar co-hosted by Oxford Nanopore Technologies and Integrated Sciences within six months of project completion.
  • Review and agree to the full terms and conditions available via the link below.

All applications will need to be submitted 25th September 2026 5pm AEST.
Sample is to be supplied to Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics team by 11th November 2026.

**DNA Sample Requirements

  • High quality gDNA from fresh or fresh-frozen samples. FFPE and cfDNA should not be assumed compatible without separate optimisation)
  • At least 1 µg of high-quality genomic DNA, with 600 ng considered the minimum quantity required.
  • DNA should be supplied at ≥10 ng/µL, preferably in 10 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5–8.5, or Low TE buffer.
  • DNA must be quantified using a Qubit or equivalent fluorometric dsDNA assay.
  • Recommended purity is:
    • A260/A280: 1.8–2.0
    • A260/A230: 2.0–2.2
  • DNA should be high molecular weight, with the majority of material greater than 20 kb before controlled fragmentation.
  • Samples should be free of RNA, proteins, phenol, guanidine, ethanol, detergents, excess salts and residual magnetic beads.
  • Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles, vigorous vortexing and repeated pipetting through narrow-bore tips.
  • Samples that do not meet these criteria may require additional clean-up, may produce shorter reads or lower target-enrichment and sequencing performance, and may be accepted only following technical review.
