High Throughput INSTRUMENTATION
BioTrove: a revolutionary plate format that enables the performance of PCR and Real Time PCR in 33nL reactions.
Each OpenArrayTM contains 48 sub arrays of 64 thru-holes. Each hole holds a single reaction.
Gene Expression: reactions are performed using SYBR Green® chemistry. Each sample to be analysed is loaded on an individual sub array by the BioTrove AutoLoader instrument. For each sub array, up to 56 targets can be analysed.
In a single run, the BioTrove NT cycler can amplify and analyse three OpenArrayTMs, allowing 144 samples or 8064 QPCR reactions to be performed simultaneously.

Pathogen detection & Genotyping: reactions are performed using Taqman™ assays. Each sample to be analysed can be loaded on 1 sub array (64 reactions), or half a sub array (32 reactions) or a third of a sub array (16 reactions) allowing the analysis of up to 144 samples per OpenArrayTM and 432 samples per RUN directly on the cycler.
PCR can be performed off-line on a regular PCR instrument when higher throughput is required. In this mode, up to 32 OpenArrays or 198,000 genotypes (the equivalent of 256 x 384 well plates), can be processed in one day, by a single technician.
